Reactive Armor effect

Hi there! I'm just wondering. In pvp events, there are some chars that I seem to miss more frequently on with my weapon. Considering that magic items are disabled, what are they doing to make my weapons miss? I am GM and I presume they have gm wrestling/weapon skill too. I am guessing it's reactive armor? Or am I completely off?

Also, opponents armor class has no effect on my chance to hit them, right? I think it just absorbs damage?

Reactive Armor simply takes some damage you would have caused them, and negates most of it and sends some of it back at you. It makes a noise and a harm-type animation when it does this with a hit.

But you should have a 50/50 chance of hitting, GM vs GM. Only thing that could change this is if your opponent is using a bow with accuracy mods, which add to their archery instead of their Tactics skill. In that case, with a supremely accurate bow, they'd have about a 57% chance of hitting you, and you a 43% chance of hitting them.

thanks for the reply!

it seems i have so many questions about magery these days.

i am also wondering, does magery/evaluating intelligence have an effect on reactive armor?

and by the way, is there a detailed guide about spells anywhere?

eek... I *think* Magery does. I am positive that Eval Int does not.

Magery used to impact *everything* - even down to the Night Sight spell. You got brighter sight and a bigger radius at higher magery levels.

Is it safe to say that evaluating intelligence only has an effect on the damage of spells? For example, bless, poison, is based on magery level, right?

Correct evaluating intelligence affects only direct damage spells such as harm, fireball, explosion, energy bolt, flamestrike etc...

50/50 melee is just like flipping a coin; you could get tails 4 times in a row before getting head.

Thats what she said.

Hiicha, there's a quote I love, which goes:
Sex is like air. It's only important if you're not getting any.
Just... um... ponder that, before you make your 12,000th sexual pun. Inherent in it is some good advice.

That used to be my sig, except it goes:
