Why are monsters in teth keep moving so fast?

Ive been farming Tetharens (SP?) for a few months now.

Last few times I have been in there I have noticed they move much faster, So much faster I have alot of trouble casting spells on a mount without them catching up and hitting me.

I know for a fact there was nothing on OSI you couldn't outrun on foot.
I dont ever remember having this much trouble at teth keep when I played back in 99, And I was on 56k with a P-133.

Is there any explanation for the increase in movement?

According to that thread it was implemented for two reasons it seems.

Players "remembered it". Obviously a very solid argument for anything regarding accuracy.

And that the animation was jumpy, something that easily could be a fault in RunUO code.

I just dont see how these creatures could have been any faster than the rest of the monsters in UO.
Also, I dont see any patch notes what so ever describing anything related to these particular monsters moving faster then every other creature in the game. Just my two cents.

They, and the Ophidians are ridiculous now,. not sure if it's accurate or whatever, but it seems kind of crazy.

I agree. I don't remember them being that fast either. :(
