UO Second Age

Sorry, I'm a bit rusty on T2A rules ..... my char joined the thieves guild yesterday. I stole from a few random blues yesterday and managed to never get killed. This morning however I'm minding my own business in Brit and on two separate occasions, I'm attacked in town (guards don't come), which I assume is because:

1) i'm perma grey (am I perma grey to EVERYBODY, or just the people I steal from? Am I perma grey just until I die?); OR
2) I'm a member of the thieves guild and now I'm freely attackable by ANYONE who figures out I'm in the guild (and if so how do they know I'm in the guild?)

I understand that if I PK someone, I'll be kicked out of the thieves guild. Does this end my perma-greyness to everyone? (funny that if you're a thief, anyone can attack you, but if you then MURDER someone, they can't).

You must have been perma, and someone used the Forensics skill to determine that you are attackable (which is wrong imo). Or, someone you stole from saw you, and you were still grey.

Getting kicked from the guild without death, while perma?
You will still be perma until you die.

It's probably a good idea to get in the habit of killing yourself before you participate in any non-thief activities, or before you go afk.

Perma grey:

You are blue to everybody, except the ones you stole from. To whom you will appear grey.
This will stay, until you get killed. After which, you will return to life blue to everyone.


Should someone attack you, while you are perma grey, a few things will happen;
- You will become grey to your attacker.
- Others still see you as blue, as will they see your attacker as blue. (this is confusing for by-standers)
(If you are a known thief, better run fast. Others will understand that you are perma-grey and join in the fun.)
- Your attacker, will turn grey to you (as he just attacked you)
- The guards wont help you, you are a criminal after all.
- You can kill your attacker, call it self-defence.

Damn gains are slow after I hit 97 macro-ing stealing from a pack horse. Which gets killed about hourly while I'm AFK. Damn griefers are messing with my thief! Ironic.

where the heck are you macroing? I macro with 1000 of each reg and i never get stolen from.

maybe try macroing in an out-of-the-way building in an out-of-the-way town. it'd be pretty unlikely anyone would see that would give a damn about killing your pack horse

Yeah I'm around Brit. I did try a couple of other towns but still had my packhorse jacked while AFK. I guess they know I'm training a thief so I'm fair game. Which I can't argue with. I kill for no good reason ...... why shouldn't others? Although I rarely grief someone just for the sake of griefing them, usually I require at least the prospect of some treasure.

And about the packhorse...People,especially in UO, will do anything to ruin your day.

I didn't mention my macro location(s) for a reason There are many spots where people simply do not look/run past.

But you'd better get in quick... I'll have a house in a few days.
