I've been macroing meditation with a magic hat for some itme and I appea to be stuck at 97 skill, do I need to wear clothes or armor at this point to achive further gains?

I'm actually shocked that the hat got you that far. Meditation is difficulty based, you'll get better gains if you are lower on mana when you use the skill.

I used meditation largely as a means to build my intelligence, so I guess I lucked out....now I just wanna get unstuck. I thought at a certain point you could only get gains if you wore certain bits of armor...

You should start macroing your magery when you hit 80 meditation. It will GM as you are casting magery.

I've actually GMed meditation with the magic hat macro while training wrestling/swords with no problem. :\

hmmm, the hat stopped getting me gains at 62.5 although it gmed shortly after I started macroing magery.

It's really easy, just go farm mobs with blade spirits. Invest in some hiding while you are at it.
