The sadly short life of a new thief

The life of ******* began at the tavern in Minoc. Shortly after his life began, he was given a gate to a house to begin his thievery training, with his new found friend "a pack horse". On the steps of the door lay "a wooden box" (0 items, 0 stones). Curiosity got the better of *******.
His life was short lived... less than a full real life minute in total.
Thanks for a laugh, chumbucket!

Why would you open it if it had 0 items and 0 stones?

Curiousity
(I used your American spelling before, after Microsoft spell-check convinced me to do it for you)
A box with 0 items, 0 stones on my doorstep... hmmmmmmmm... who's been here?
