Aceopolis Community and Economy - welcoming new players!

To help decrease the amount of frustration experienced by new players of the shard, ACE is going to be offering a service, somewhat like a "halfway house," to help new players with their transition from being just that (a new player) to an independent, productive member of the Second Age Community. Some players might think this isn't "era accurate" but I assure you, when I played this game in 1997, I did find kind souls online who took me under their wing and helped me out in a similar fashion (one of them just started playing on UOSA!). There's a good chance that I had the opportunity to experience some of the best gaming moments of Ultima Online because of these people, simply because I never had the chance to get to that level of frustration (which would have been quite easy for me, I assure you).
We're not here trying to offer you a full time babysitting service. What we are offering you is a completely empty castle that you will be able to "live" out of for free, which is near a small cemetery (with creatures similar to the Britain cemetery) and full access to any secures there if you'd need to store anything needed. We're offering you amity from our own PK's (only applies to players guilded on our "peace" guild stone). A player city which offers a stablemaster, great vendors, multiple rune libraries to get to any spot in Ultima, and it's a short run to Trinsic bank.
Sounds pretty good, right? So what the hell is in it for us? The ultimate goal in doing this is to make that transition from "new player," to active part of the second age community much easier than it would be by trying to fend for yourself on a server full of perfect strangers. Besides that, we're hoping to bring business into our city. Plus, having people refresh my castle would be sweet. And that's it.
Again, we're not offering to hold your hand and skip aimlessly into the wilderness of Britannia, but we are offering you that little bit of help that most new players are happy to accept.
If you're new to the game or new to the server, contact "Onslaught" in mIRC or you can leave me a PM here, and I'll be happy guild you up on our stone and bring you to Aceopolis.
