I know that unattended resource gathering is illegal, which includes gathering boards/ore/deep sea fishing/a few others that I forget. But my question is what is unattended? Obviously leaving your macro running while you sleep is, or goto school/work. But What is the cut off on time limit? Such as If I have the macro running and I run to get some water, goto the bathroom, or am playing on another window and dont check back for 10 minutes or so. Or do I need to be watching the screen 100% of the time?

Okay so if im playing another window on another character thats unattended?

From what I've seen, then admins are pretty lenient here,but it's really gonna be at their discretion. Are they gonna wait around for 10 minutess waiting on you to come back? Maybe, maybe not.

They can't police everyone, but if you feel that pack of smokes from the gas station was worth getting jailed over, go right ahead.

Hmm, perhaps a specifically defined time limit is in order. That is to say if a GM asks the response of a potentially unattended resource gathering player, and the player does not respond for X amount of time, they receive a punishment of some kind for their actions.

usually if your at one uo screen and your resource gathered is minimized you shoudl be able to check back often enough to not get called out on being afk

It really comes down to how long we should be expected to stand there. Sometimes we jail and get paged immediately, often we've already commented the account by the time we realize that the person isn't actually AFK.

The people we are really looking for are not the people that just got up to go to the bathroom, however those people can take up a substantial portion of our time when we are trying to find the real AFKers.

We would rather not post specific time allowances; a player knows if he is doing this AFK. If you are only going to be gone a couple minutes to use the bathroom, just stop the macro, you'll save us both a lot of hassle.

I will sometimes run AFK when I'm using the bathroom or putting my daughter to bed but my gathering macroes stop once the vein or tree is dry so I should be good.

Just for the record, sometimes a good poo last 30 maybe 45 da..er hou,, er minutes.

If a GM pops up at your location and sais hi and you dont answer with in a minute. In my eyes your unattended macroing.

Ive had Derrick pop up in my house that was positioned so I could mine from inside cuz some passer by heard me mine(i stay hid while mining there). He popped in said hi, i responded and he was on his way, simple as that. They may ask you some off the wall questions too to make sure its not a macro response etc etc.

If you think youe gonna be gone longer than 5 mins i recommended shutting the macro off untill you get back, 5 mins of not farming beats getting jailed for 24 hrs or how ever long

Well, will you "attend" that macroer by opening the window to check how it's doing? And will you be able to answer a GM if he's interrogating you? If you can't, I think that's unattended.

Well I can tell you preciously what NOT to do. Do not leave your macro going and turn around and play Moden Warfare 2 on your PS3. That will make Yoda jail you. :/

I personally have a distaste for resource gathering macros. While my feelings extend even towards those that choose to macro one account while watching it the entire time, I realize the legitimacy of this. I cannot however, understand the allowance of three accounts, all macroing, with a person checking it every once in a while to make sure a GM has not tried to talk to them. I have a firm belief, that unless you are using 3 monitors, you are afk resource gathering.
