Resist Sessions Over?

With the recent patch effecting resist gains due to damage taken in addition to the circle of the spell are resist sessions even worth it any more?

Was wanting to host sessions bi-weekly.

We held one the day after the patch. Gains were decent up to the mid 80's, from there they basically stopped (we were 10 or 12 targets). So, it will help you get up to 86 or so, but don't expect to GM off it.

If anyone comes up with any new resist session ideas don't be shy, post em up!

you can get to 92 resist by simply gaining magery.

Be sure to train eval first, even if you are gonna drop it afterwards. Training magery without eval will no longer get you to 92 resist.

I am talking about group session ideas, perhaps putting a limit on how many attend will allow you to gm?

It would have to be less than 10, making it very cost inefficient, IMHO.

Less cost efficient then FSing yourself? I still think Meteor with 9 would be better on both the pocket and gains.

I wouldn't be so sure. We used around 12k MS regs (168,000gps) and only got to 86 (from 68), and remember, gains stopped. It wasn't a time issue, it was a damage v skill issue. 9 might take you to 90, but will not GM you I assume. It still remains a mystery how many MS casts you would need on how many targets to GM resist with the new patch, but it's not looking good.

According to my calculations you could spend less than 48k gps and GM resist (from 50) with FS (about 8,000 casts).

Are you saying you cannot GM magery by FSing yourself? I'm pretty sure I did that on OSI in 1999. A combo of that, the blade spirit/tower bug and trapping wisps in my house.

You can GM magery and eval to GM by FSing yourself.

I think you need eval to GM resist, if you are casting on yourself. I don't think anyone has tested that, yet, though.

You could maybe GM without eval, but it will cost SIGNIICANTLY more to do so (if even possible). GM eval, FS yourself.
