I don't know where one would find the proof or the code or whatever you guys (the gms) use to decide what goes in UOSA. With that said I don't know how I'd convince anyone to make one town that allows magery damage (other than Bucs).

It is era accurate, I don't know how it was on the servers you guys played but on napa valley Vesper allowed magery damage, preUOR (and beyond obviously). This made vesper the O/C place to be.

I don't have anything wrong with fighting at Bucs, or the Brit GY, or Destard, or anywhere else that gets action, but town fighting has always been my favorite. Other than that it's era accurate to my server at least.

Who else had a town (saying Bucs gets your face punched) on their server that allowed magery damage?

I do remember using Magery in Vesper on Lake Superior

My memory doesn't serve me well enough to comment further on this though

Having magery damage work in a single town wouldn't affect era accuracy as long as it was under the guise of an event as far as I know. Write up some kind of storyline for one or something and it could possibly happen.

Since I've made this post I've made some messages inquiring on whether or not I'm remembering this correctly. I've had two people say that they 100 percent think that I'm wrong and I've had two people say that they think I'm right. I distinctly remember going to Vesper under various circumstances during preUOR and spell damage worked. I even remember the first time that I learned that spell damage worked in Vesper and I went with an O/C dexer and blue healed him :P

At this point I can't be 100 percent certain.

This is already in the works by some.

I used to remember spells working in town when i played. The way it was explained to me in an earlier post was that magery in towns was takin out closer to our "era". I used to spend quite a bit of time running through flame walls on the roof of the Vesper mage shop and hoping that noone would run through on purpose and guard kill me. I find it difficult to beleive that one town(not including bucs) was left with magic on.

There were some articles posted here a long time ago by me discussing no magic damage in town in March '00.

No magic damage in town was probably removed for factions in late '00.

would certainly make it a way more hustle/bustle town, way more entertaining at least

It was Trinsic during the invasion of Jou'nar the litch.

It was only for 60 days.

if you want to fight in now, make a townie or go to bucs.

You could cast firefields in town until early '99. I always thought they were a particularly fun element in town.
