Mount Range Guide
With the new patch implemented I foresee a larger mount market ahead.
Here is a list of mount range from Least Ranged to Most Ranged.
Llama - Considerably less range then your regular run of the mill Horse. Not recommend for long travels.
Horse - A rather average steed. Not much competition for other mounts. Mediocre for field use.
Forest Ostard - Capable of running a much longer distance then any regular horse. The ideal mount for navigating the woods.
Desert Ostard - Strongest of the "non skill" mounts. Far surpasses its forest bound counter part in stamina. The ultimate field/pvp mount.
*Nightmare - Requires taming to control. Extremely strong and dexterous. Capable of running enormous lengths without tire.
*Frenzied Ostard - Requires taming to control. Can out run any other mount in Britannia. Far weaker then a Nightmare.
The * mounts require Animal Taming / Animal Lore to control, thus making Tamers the only ones who can apply the "all follow me" bug to refresh the mount stamina.
Pricing - Obviously price it from least dexterous mount to most dexterous mount. Out of the "no skill" tames the Desert Ostard should sell for considerably more then the rest, as it will be most sought after. Nightmares hold novelty and rarity so they are obviously the most expensive. I'm interested to see how the pricing develops.
Note - Attacking mounts when players hop off to refresh using the "all follow me" tactic is now different. You cannot re-mount a pet in combat until the aggressor tab's out or switches targets.

Re: Mount Range and suggested pricing guide.
What is your reference for the difference between forest/desert ostards? They seem to have the same stamina to me.

Also look at my thread, Llamas were the superior mount during t2a. They are incorrect here. There is no documentation for t2a mounts, so their stats are guess work here.

Re: Mount Range Guide
their spawn stats are semi random though, simply basing off one of each mount wouldn't work. if you got a lowball forest and a highball desert it would make a huge differenceRoseRIP wrote:Its was a flawless procedure.
<green> grats pink and co. .... the 3 of you f---ing scrubs together can blow up a bard. IMPRESSIVE
Re: Mount Range Guide
Bingo. I remember them being the same, but there is definitely a range, like all creatures.nightshark wrote:their spawn stats are semi random though, simply basing off one of each mount wouldn't work. if you got a lowball forest and a highball desert it would make a huge differenceRoseRIP wrote:Its was a flawless procedure.
According to archive.org:
October 1999
http://web.archive.org/web/200001191811 ... oclok.html
Forest: 51.0 taming skill
Desert: 63.0 taming skill
Feb 2000
http://web.archive.org/web/200102152148 ... tard.shtml
Forest: 29.1 taming skill
Desert: 29.1 taming skill
Current:
http://uo.stratics.com/database/view.ph ... ers&id=173
http://uo.stratics.com/database/view.ph ... ers&id=380
Forest: 29.1 taming skill, 56-75 dex
Desert: 29.1 taming skill, 56-75 dex
My guess is, the Oct 1999 data was old and/or inaccurate. I'd suggest editing both Forest and Desert to 29.1 and editing their stats as is currently displayed on Stratics. We know the Frenzied's were nerfed at some point after 1999, but I don't think forest and desert were ever rebalanced.
Or, if you're feeling super conservative, edit the taming requirements to mimic the October 1999 stratics (I think this is way off, but it's a source). But our current values - http://wiki.uosecondage.com/?title=Animal_Taming seem to be based on this: http://web.archive.org/web/199910130013 ... index.html which says they could have up to 170 hps, which seems high.

Re: Mount Range Guide
Yes I'm aware that they have a stat range and am working on some good numbers... Marmalade gave me a great idea on this.
The list is accurate tho, those are the weakest to strongest mounts.

Re: Mount Range Guide
Taming Archive has Forest and Desert at 68 dex in 2001... within the range of the present stats. If I had to bet money, I'd bet they were the present value, 56-75, the whole time, since our era. But I can't find anything to guarantee it.
