This upcoming thursday 7/8/10 at around 11:30p.m. EST we'll be holding another PvP practice open to all members and our Allies. The basic mechanics remain the same, GM Armour and Wepons, BYO Regs / Bandages.

Additional to our practice, we'll be holding a PvP tournament exclusively for members and allies, format and location will be disclosed at the practice, where some prizes will be awarded. I'm hoping we can do it immediately after practice, if it gets too late / complicated, a date and time will be announced then.

Please let me know if you can make it, and what char you're bringing.

Work permitting, I will be coming. I will be bringing Davros Skaro

Yeah, you guys missed the last long fight at the end with Me vs DarkWing, in the battle of the Healing Dexxers. It took forever for it to end. It was nice to finally win one.

I think there were some additional pieces of armor that I should have worn which would have given me more of a chance.

What were you wearing, and what were you fighting with? Ideal is a dexxer suit (chain tunic, chain legs, ring arms, ring gloves, closed helm, and the gorget, some people like plate, some people prefer studded for that extra 1 dex). I personally like studded because I have some magical ones that give me the same AR as plate, plus I use swds which are a tad slower that a fork for example.

Yeah, I wasn't in a full dexxer suit. I had the tunic, the helm, and the gloves, and a shield. I switched back and forth between a fork and a kryss over the course of the night. The kryss is the fastest-hitting weapon of course, but it doesn't seem to hit as hard as a fork. So, I kept switching to see which I liked better. I still haven't made a determination.

My biggest problem is that with the timing changes, I can't drop my shield and down a pot as fast as i'd like. That is why I didn't have Parrying on this char at first, but then I added it. So I'm trying to figure out a way around that issue.

My dexxer has GM Parry and seemed fine vs. mages since you only need to block the slow hally, which allowed me enough time to unequip-drink-equip before the next hit. I still haven't seen how timing is affected fighting vs. another dexxer, and if it will still be a useful skill.
