what do you require to join the blacksmith guild?
If i ask the guildmistress to join she says im too young?
account = 431 days old
Do i need a certain skill level? GM?

Sorry, if answer is posted somwhere here, or stupid question, did a search to no avail.

I don't know the answer from experience, but how old is the particular character (not account)? Might need to exist for a week or something.

not sure exactly but ive had the character atleast year, hardly used him though, just training up skills proper now.

hmmm....how old are you then? I dont think you can join any trade guilds if you were born too close to the release date of the game.

This was what I was assuming, was interested to see how much ingots were knocked down by, if any?, I joined the mage guild to buy regs, thought id try the same with the smithy guild? - I realise, it certainly wouldnt be as low as 6-7gp (the going rate) but theres not always someone selling to hand at the moment of need, if you catch my drift.

If you could send an in game page from the character having the trouble I can look to see why he's unable to join.

The requirement for all NPC guilds is seven day character age. Thieves guild has an additional 48 hours game time requirement.

problem solved.

character was old enough, but I was short in game time.

Aye. I should have updated when I figured this one out. I had it backwards. The 7 day character age is for thieves guild. The 48 hours game time is for all NPC guilds.

Once joining a NPC guild, you are stuck in it for 7 real days, and 4 days of game time.

just to add to my original query:

By joining the blacksmithing guild (which I have now done) you do get a discount on ingots, which are priced at 8gp rather than 9gp. This is quite a good saving if your planning on buying up 10-20k of ingots - assuming you cant find another player selling.
