Client Patch Feb 23 1999 2:32PM
Mace weapons now cause stamina loss ...
This explicitly states that mace weapons didn't cause stamina loss before February 23, 1999, which could mean that other weapons didn't do stamina damage.

How do people deal with the stamina loss from spells and other weapon hits?
This is referring to stamina loss from weapons and spell damage and it's being posted in 2002, which could mean this wasn't an issue in 1999 or previous years.

Have they changed the amount of stamina one loses when getting hit by
spells?
I've been looking a lot for the source of the recent change where you steadily (over running time) or suddenly (when your mount becomes fatigued) lose your (yes, yours, not your horses) stamina (your horse loses stamina too, which I'm not debating against) while you're mounted but I haven't been able to find any. I've also been looking for a source of information that explicitly states melee weapons from something other than blunt damage and spells reduce your stamina but haven't been able to find anything to support that either.

Can somebody provide something other than what the demo code says? I think this would be important to the accuracy of the shard. If you're going to make the effort, might I suggest you try looking for a Usenet Group Post where the entire conversation happens on the exact same date and time. Seems sketchy, doesn't it? To have an entire thread as:

Thats not sketchy at all. These messages were archived with only a date stamp ("More options" will show the message's true date). They are still accurate to 24hrs (well, 36hrs really -- no timezone specified either). Should be more than accurate enough for these purposes.

More options didn't yield the real post date and time but I'll take your word on the legitimacy of timeless threads.

I've always lost stamina from taking damage.
So I guess that basically settles my debate against stamina loss from other weapons.

A search to the terms of "ultima online stamina loss mounted" didn't yield anything viable to use as evidence to the former topic about the player losing stamina while mounted as opposed to just the ride.

The archived date is "Date: 1998/11/13" not "Nov 13 1998, 3:00 am". Its a difference in precision; I have no idea why Google appends "3:00 am".

Often you can get a more precise date by looking through quoting replys -- news readers often add stamps themselves. In this thread you have "On Fri, 13 Nov 1998 07:19:45 -0600, Glaeken <[email protected]> wrote:" while quoting the original post.

Wish I could address the main subject in your post, but I haven't been able to search google groups for the last 12hrs or so. :x

1998/11/13 is Nov 13, 1998. I can see that everything before 2000 is displayed in the same fashion, which is odd. Why would they do that?

Let me know if you find anything on this one because I certainly haven't been able to. Thanks much for the consideration.

the stamina loss on a mount is in the demo. but tbh i don't think i've actually once completely run out of (personal) stam while running around on my mount on UOSA (excluding fights against macers).

I know it's in the demo. I asked in the OP if anyone could find evidence for it somewhere outside of something that pre-dates T2A.
