From what I understand, it's an era accurate bug. I believe Derrick did it on purpose, actually.

sorry but wrong, I in no way remember a whole building of mobs following my every move through multiple walls floors and cave rock. I played the era and remember some instances in certain places but very few. I in no way remember mobs with x-ray vision.
I even have mobs in other buildings that can see me in a separate building. This is a huge bug that should be fixed.

Are we sure that they didnt have to obtain LoS first to agro you, and then they were able to do this?

There were multiples sources discussing it on google groups and even the demo backed it up I believe.
The creatues do not aggro/attack you Alatar and just 'acquire' you instead.
Most people that macro'd in a house back in the day would wake up to a swarm of mobs hugging your house.

Houses had way different properties than dungeons and world buildings. I hope this change wasn't based on house rules. Once they saw you they followed through walls but if you got on other side of wall and hid and showed again they didnt see you until you were in their LOS.

There is also groups and discussions on people who think they were anally probed by aliens too but doesn't make it true. I guarantee it is not on demo to have mobs follow your every move through limitless walls and floors having no Z baring. I played the era, I am just stating in my experience of UO mobs have never been "all seeing" Do you see how ridiculous that screen shot I posted is?

It is wrong and there are so many ways to exploit this but ok.

Seeing through walls is correct. As a tamer, it is extremely irritating to have your pet sit there and chase after mobs that are inaccessible behind walls. I thought it was still behaving this way when I stopped playing in 2002ish.
