How reliable is the 14 day house decay timer?

I'm going away soon for 10 days, probably 11 or 12 days between house refreshes. I get so concerned about house decay that I usually refresh my lesser used houses every five days at most.
Do I have anything to worry about at 12 days max between refreshes? Put my mind at rest, ta

you don't have anyone you trust enough to friend them until you come back?

Well, you should be ok for 12 days. I mean, IDOC hunters everywhere rely on those timers.

They dont even have to be able to open the door, just attempt to open the door as a friend and it will be refreshed.

Yeah. I forgot about that. Just friend them, but don't give them a key. All they have to do is doubleclick the door and it will refresh the house.
