Housing Deed's Decay rate

So i finally moved into my new keep, and deeded up all my homes in the swamp to place another keep for resale. I purchase a keep deed in brit, take it to the new keep i just moved into, drop it on the ground, and promptly log out to log in another char on the account that will be using the deed. Less then a minute later i am logged in with another character from that same account, but the deed is gone.....i did detect hidden before i logged out the first character, and the keep is totally secure.
So i start to talk to some ppl and read about this patch put in back in May about item decay. I never would have imagined that we would implement a patch where an item purchased in a store decays in less then a minute by placing it on the ground. I hear its era accurate, well i played from 97 onward and i most certainly do not remember house deeds being anything other then blessed (hence why they drop if your red and die.)
I do not believe this to be era accurate, and would love to see proof that it is. As of now i am out 650k for less then a minute of my housing deed that i just purchased, sit on the floor of my secured keep. Am i the only one who thinks something is very very off? I would like my keep deed back please, and a fix to this to make housing deeds blessed, not noobied.

GOD then i read that patch note about.....fml its era accurate. 650k into the sink hole.

It shouldn't decay on the floor of your house though, right? I know it would decay very quickly on the ground, but I thought only bodies decayed in houses.

I have seen this VERY thing happen with my own eyes. I bought some stuff from a guy and did the transaction at his 2 story. I gave him the deeds and he put one on the floor and within seconds it went POOF right before our eyes. Didnt realize what had happened at the time, but it was exactly as BeatingU described.
This needs to be looked into ASAP.
Sucks man, sorry to hear you lost such a big deed.....!!!!!!

I tested this by placing my newbie book on the floor of my house and it decayed in about 30 seconds. This seems era accurate, because I remember losing the backpack on my paperdoll the same way when I placed it on the floor of my house back in 98/99.

I thought newbie items were supposed to be 90 seconds to decay, and nothing would decay (again, except bodies and body parts) on house floors.
Lainestin, I don't know what you mean by "losing the backpack on my paperdoll".

Deeds are newbie items, they decay in houses and everywhere else at a faster rate. If you want to be picky about it, the only "real" inaccuracy is that they should still decay when locked down.

Interesting, I'll have to play around with this - so death robes, daggers, and newb clothing decay on floors too? Interesting.

For a short time, there was a bug that allowed you to remove the newbied backpack from your paperdoll. I was playing around with it and set the pack on the floor and it decayed.

Actually Matron, now that I think about it, in my instance the guy did lock it down and it went poof.....I was behind his table wall and I thought I was seeing things.

I've got newbied items locked down in my houses. I just have to be sure to lock them down really fast before they decay.
