I recently upped my Evaluate Intelligence skill to the point at which I can see the mana level of my targets. So I'm targeting a sheep, who comes up as "fairly stupid", which is fairly generous IMO given it's a sheep, but that would indicate it has 10-19 INT.

However, I also receive a message "This being is at zero percent mental strength."

Shouldn't it be at 100% mental strength, given it has no way to expend it's mana? Or is it because it has 0/0 mana left, since it's a non-caster? (In which case, it should have "undefined" mental strength )

Creatures can have different maximum values for both intelligence and mana. However, the sheep probably still should be at 100% mental strength even if it has 0 mana.

I suspect (admitedly without looking) that his max mana is zero and the algorythm is returning this instead of dividing by zero. We should check in demo to see which way it should go. I doubt it'll say infinite though

Yeah, I remember looking through the demo npc template file and seeing the separate values for INT and Mana. I'd guess it should have 0 or null in the mana dept. But still... thought it was amusing to note.

Sheep are much smarter than you are giving them credit for.

Is it even era accurate to get the message of % mana/stamina?
