I don't know this feature, since I started on a private server, which did not used it.

What's the use? As I lay in my house? Thanks in advance.

The contents of a secure box can only be accessed by "friends" / "coowners" of the house. If an unfriended player is in your house, the only safe things are your secure box, and locked down ITEMS (not containers, and not food).

It seems cool, very useful, but how to do I get one? It is just like the trash barrel, do I need to say something, or do I have to buy one anywhere?

"I wish to secure this"

Thanks, and I suppose I need to stay where I want it to be, right? I'll try it right now.

No, you secure an existing container. You can secure a backpack, or a crate, or a chest, etc. But it does not create a new box.

lol, you're right, of course. I did just try it, and it shows up the target cursor. But it works now, thanks again.

Only friends and co-owners can open it, right? Even without key? Nice place to have my (tiny) treasures...

Correct, if it is unlocked. Locking boxes is basically useless since most house thieves will find a way of unlocking it (lockpicking skill).

I did some tests. I can secure any container, right? Box, chest, pouch, bag... There's a limit of items, or weight, inside the container? I did read something about the usual, 125 items, no limit for weight...

And to remove it, I say 'I wish to insecure this'. lol, this talk I'd figured by myself...

Pretty sure the only container without a weight limit is your bank box...

Say "I wish to release this" to unsecure the container or no longer lock it down.

The secure container has a weight limit, but it seems that other locked down containers do not. They all have an item limit of 125.

No, releasing does not unsecure it, I did try. You'll need to unsecure, then release the container to remove it.

Do you know the limit? I didn“t try this,I don't have enough stuff to fill the box. Maybe I'll kill some bulls for leather, and see what happens.

Secure container has 125 item / 400 stone weight limit.

and yes, to move the container, you must "unsecure" then "release" the container, since the container is both secured and locked down.

I just tried the command again in case it changed recently, but when I say "I wish to release this" and target a secure container, it both unsecures and unlocks down a container with the one command. I honestly don't remember it working that way on OSI shards, but it works here.

Ok, I just searched thru the patches and found what I was referring to and Ripplinger is correct. If you say "I wish to release this", it will undo securing and locking-down. If you say "I wish to unsecure this", it will unsecure the container but leave it locked down.

Patch 131 - June 25, 2010: Pets, AI, Housing, Fatigue, Guard wrote:Housing Changes:
Secures count against total Lockdowns
Saying "I wish to unsecure this" will unsecure a chest in a house. but it will remain locked down.
"I wish to Secure this" will lock down the item if not already locked down, in addition to securing it
When releasing a secure with "I wish to release this" it will become neither locked down nor secure
