A plea to all Treasure Hunters

When you're finished looting the chest, throw the map inside of it (optional), and hit it with an axe to destroy it.

The other day, I galloped out deep into Windermere Woods to dig up a chest, only to find that some jerk's empty chest occupied the same spot (only the map-solver can destroy a treasure chest); these things persist for hours.

Last night, I had to put-down a Liche Lord that was ravaging the countryside near my home: it's a semi-newbish region, and weaker characters don't need an accidental close-encounter with Liche Lords, Ogre Lords, Dread Spiders, Balrons, etc. (all of these I've had to kill on occasion; they've most-likely come from TMap spawn left behind, or from newbies raiding an unemptied chest left behind).

So, please be considerate and destroy the treasure chest once you've taken all you want from it.

Thanks to all who (already) comply.

I actually didn't know you could destroy the chests with an axe, so thanks much for the reminder post. I'll be sure and carry an axe with me from now on and do it.

And yes, I always found it annoying to have to wait for the previous chest to clear, but I didn't know there was any option.

I always destroy my chests but there are several t-hunters that didnt know about the destory option either so i had to tell them.

ON a side note... Provo Bard so its usually comes down to leaving one mob alive once you are all done... I love leaving an Orge Lord still alive for the next person to use..

Ran in to this problem for the first time on this server last night, sounds like there might be a new t-hunter around.
