Insane wizards/alternative universe

I was playing in Shame alone in the insane wizards section and i died. I had gotten there by rune made previous to new patch that changed sandal colors from blue to regular. So i died and i wanted a friend to come and loot me. He came but couldnt see my body or ghost, and i couldnt see him. Also he noted that the beds were different. Different monsters but still insane wizards. So it was some sort of alternative universe!?! So i lost my goodies, oh well, but just wondering if runes made before patch lead you to some parallel universe which you cannot run to, only get to through rune... anyone know about this phenomena?

any chance he just logged on a whole different server...? there is no reason your rune would be any different, nearly everyone is using prepatched runes to shame.

nope, it was secondage. i used the rune to get back there and i found some of my stuff on the wizards but my body was decomposed. The things wizards find appealing, like a robe or a scroll, opposed to my regs or the 6k in gold. damn you wizards!!!!! im gonna test this thing out after i do my homework.
btw nightshark...sorry
