From the Wiki :

* 0-45 Lesser Poison
* 45-65 Poison
* 65-GM Greater Poison

As far as money goes, the best way to make money starting off is by making a bard. Make money on the bard while macroing alchemy on your alchemist.

Good luck.

Unless you are simultaneously macroing Poisoning, do not do this: this is the "alchemy half" of a combined strategy to raise both skills;

if you are after Alchemy only, refer to the chart on the page I've linked below and make the least-expensive potion with a "minimum skill" within 15-20 of your present Alchemy Ability; if it's a potion you can sell/use, all the better: at 50, Greater Agility and normal Explosion; at 55-60 Alchemy, start adding in Greater Strength, etc.

If you need batches of any lower-skill potions for your own use (Refresh, maybe), go ahead and grind off as much as you need, as they may still give you some skill gains (if you need the potions anyway, why not earn a little skill making them?).

That chart in the wiki is incorrect, by the way. I was able to make Lesser Refresh potions at 0.0 real skill (I think displayed was like 6.0 or so) and succeeded probably 2/3 of the time.

That's interesting.

My own experience, regarding the chart: I made 2-3 kegs of "each appropriate potion" to get my Alchemist to 80; here at UOSA, skill-gain is incredibly fast compared to in-era OSI.
