I've seen someone talk about this before on here but when you where a chainmail tunic your armor goes down if you wear arm armor pieces.

The chainmail tunic will protect your arms when no other arms armor is worn. If you put on armor of lower value over your arms it will override the arms value of the chainmail tunic.
