UO Second Age

I have found it really funny that I can go to a Players shop and buy stuff without holding any gold. Since it comes out of my bank account.
Now if I go to any NPC shop excluding buying a boat or House deed, I can’t without the correct gold being on my person. If I go to buy a suit of armor from a blacksmith NPC I have to have the gold on my person or I cannot complete the transaction.
Can this be changed?

This exists when purchasing 2k gold or more worth of goods from a vendor.

HMM 2000 gold and up. I guess I will try this out...
