Filling bottles with a full backpack

forgive me if this is an intended feature, but it just seemed a bit odd to me so i thought i'd mention it.
when trying to fill empty bottles with potions when your pack is full (125 items, including the stack of empty bottles) it seems to consume the bottles but not the potions from the keg. every attempt at filling a bottle does, however, bring up the message "You pour some of the keg's contents into an empty bottle... ...but there is no room for the bottle in your backpack."
just seemed a bit strange, sorry if i missed a patch note or something.
