Is it legal to offer money for in game items?
I know currently that it says that you can make donations but there are no "rewards". In the future is there talk about adding rewards such as in game gold, regs, name change, beard dyes.... anything along those lines? I understand keeping the feeling of osi but could the "rewards" be items you can get in so you dont ruin that feel.

i dont think that you will ever be able to buy rewards from the staff directly.
it would do much to undermine the integrity and unbiasedness of staff and server.

As much as I don't care to buy items/gold for real life money (as all of it are just pixels)... if he decides to do this who are you to judge him?
Maybe its more worthwhile to him to spend $10-$20 and get 2+ million gold. Instead of investing all the time that is needed to make that money. I know during tax season I would rather buy gold than spend the hours it takes to make it. I can do 1 tax return that takes me 30 minutes to 1 hour and easily make $50+. So when you look at your time spent/money made... it might be worth it to him.

Lets keep in mind that they don't get paid for this either.
Perhaps a specific rare for a $20/whatever donation would be worth it. Nothing currently on the trophy rare list, but nothing too special.
I'm sure there's bandwidth to pay, etc.

I am pretty sure Derrick stated that he would never offer rewards for cash.

I haven't seen anyone doing this so far. At the rate that my iron/colored ingots are selling it sure is sounding tempting to just bite the bullet and buy UO gold.

also the rewards could be in game items such as regs, name change, house deed, etc........ Im not saying a blessed neon robe or anything that changes the game but it would be nice be able to buy items that anyone can obtain but its just a suggestion.
I really am more interested in offering people money to buy an item to get up and running.

He's looking to offer other players for their gold in RL money. Not from the shard directly necessarily.

We won't interfere with anything players negotiate between themselves, but please don't advertise this on forums.
