Other way to up resist

Let's say you already have 55 resist from running in a wall of fire.
Is it possible to up your resisting spells in other ways than the usual lightning/ebolt/fs method? For instance, would mana vampire works to GM it?

Actually, there are. One that I have heard is a lot of fun is:
(1) Go to Wind, hire all the mages you find there.
(2) Gate them to a spot 1 tile outside of GZ and trap them with boxes
(3) Cast mass curse next to them (while still outside GZ, of course) and run back into GZ
(4) Have a GM healer/anatomy char standing by, and loaded with bandages with a healing macro.
(5) Enjoy the ride!!

The above method works, but you need to take breaks from it after a few minutes so the NPC's can meditate up. Otherwise they will just spam you with magic arrow which wont really help your resist. Seems easier to just buy bulk FS regs and get to work though.

I have also heard of people loading tamed WW's onto a boat just outside GZ, and have the target inside, and go to work. Dunno how much better it could work.

This method and/or using Wisps is better than NPC mages. Wisp ships take a lot of work, but you can do it with no money down (besides a boat's price). White Wyrms are excellent because if you have a tamer, it's really not difficult to get 20+ of them together.

Someone said that MS resist sessions still work up to 86 real skill, is that true?

Also Hidden Valley has 1-2 NPC mage vendors, haven't tried buying as a red, but I'd assume it would work fine

Yeah you can buy those but it's much more expensive
