House decay timers poll

Asked Derrick in irc how accurate our 30 days was and he said he remembers it being about a week at one point and the oldest stratics pages I can find list it at about 11 days. I'm proposing dropping it to about 2 weeks. it will last 3 days at slightly, somewhat, fairly and greatly and then 1 day at idoc before it crumbles. Before you just think all I want is some free stuff (you bet I do) it could make the houses more accurate and get some people to log on more often just to keep their stuff. With a 30 day limit you can log on and keep your house going and not even play while someone else who is more active might get better use out of the location.

bah, there is plenty of real estate out there.
and the shorter the time the more worthless a house.

Derrick, I don't even see why this is a poll. During the era, the decay timer was about 7-10 days. Therefore, that is what it should be here. If you want to log in once every 30 days to refresh your house, never play, and waste land, stop playing the game. Logging in once a week shouldn't be that hard anyways. And if you are going on vacation, make some in game friends to refresh your house.

it's not so much for real estate because the only housing i would want that'd be in demand is for vendors. I want my house in a remote spot that no one will bother me at. It's more for accuracy and from the feeling that if you want a house in a good spot you have to deserve it by being a more active player. If you're going to log in once a month to refresh and not use it then let someone else take advantage. and 2 weeks is still not much more effort to keep your house where it is.

Well for people wanting to keep as much population as possible you guys aren't really seeing this clearly. If someone loses their house and everything in it, then it is most likely they will quit never to return...This is another reason why I do not agree with house looting. As it is era accurate all it does is hurt the server's population not help it. Having houses decay in 2 weeks may be era accurate, but then real estate was a hot commodity. Here you can place a castle a screen away from YEW (like we just did) and there is countless other places to put whatever housing you want. You greedy harcore gamers need to give it a rest...

If someone's not committed enough or playing actively enough to log in 1 extra time in a month to refresh a house then they really werent adding all that much to the server now were they? If recent patches haven't shown you this server cares more for accuracy than coddling players. Real estate here may not be as crazy as it was on OSI but certain spots are considered very valuable and are currently being occupied by empty vacant houses getting no use. Again even if when a house collapsed it left no items behind at all I would vote for it because it would make the server more accurate. I haven't seen any staff back down from the current criticism over the new spawns in the dungeons even though some people are really up in arms over it saying it's ruining the server and will cost us players. I think it's good to play on a server that has a set goal in mind (in this case accuracy to the t2a era) that won't be swayed by people who whine or say so what if it's not accurate what's the harm or it's better this way. Sorry if it's a long reply or seems like i'm super adamant about it but I'm at work with nothing else to do but read the forums. Remember I'm only saying people should have to log in 1 more time a month to keep their stuff. If that's too hard then I say find another server. If someone wants something easier they can find a hybrid server or something with some of the UOR patches implemented.

Why isn't the original delay an option?

Original OSI, original t2a or original that this server had when it opened?

The original timer that OSI had during t2a. It would have been nice if that was one of the options. That would be the only possible reason for me to vote in this poll.

I dunno what that timer was. Like i said the earliest stratics table I could find had it at 11 days start to finish. What timer system are you talking about. How long did houses last.
