Item window inaccuracy (some research found)

I was trying to buy black sandals from somebody a couple days ago, when I realized that I cancelled the window and the sandals went back to where they were equipped. The item will fall back to wherever equipped if the trade window is cancelled, UNLESS trading for multiple items (in which case the items fall back into the backpack). In technicality, according to era accuracy, items should be able to even be moved (according to the research I've found).
UO (accurate):

"Once an item has been placed in the trade window, you will not be able to remove it unless you cancel the trade. Cancelling will return all items to the backpacks of the two players involved. This was done in order to reduce the viability of common "trade window scams."
-What this states is that items should go back to the backpack once the item window has been cancelled. The second vital piece of information (pre-patch) states items were able to be removed from windows.
UOSA (inaccurate):
"Items in trade windows will bounce to the correct original location if the trade window is canceled."
-Items should not be able to fall back into their first destination. If somebody is trading an item, it should not fall back to their original location (IE sandals should not go back to the feet or an item from the bank shouldn't go back to the bank box).
Hope this is evidence is ample enough to change back to the way it was before.
