UO Second Age

i can't believe i have to ask this having 2 old gm picker / t hunters 1 on Siege and the other on Chessy. I'm done with the age of stuff so i came here to make my t hunter old school. i have a map, picking and cart skills to open it but i can't remember how to dig the damn thing up! i click on the shovel and it says "you can't mine here". What am i not doing? thanks

i figure it out

use the shovel on the map and then on the ground.

Actually you can make the 2nd dig on the map also and it works.
