uosaTRADE.com would like to invite all members of the UOSA trading community to partake in a newly created website designed to alleviate the pressures of the trade community on the UOSA staff and be able to dedicate more time and resources to more pressing matters. With this we hope to also be able to make the trading community better, safer, and more robust than it has been in the past.

We've made a lot of improvements including a customized trading feedback system that cannot be abused, stronger forum reporting and protection with the ability to report posts AND private messages, a featured auction spot above the forums with customizable HTML, stronger banning, and a staff dedicated specifically to interacting with and improving the trading community.

We've been releasing the site to people slowly to see what kind of interest and feedback we would receive. The response so far has been positive and we decided to go with a restricted release. What that means is instead of opening registration we will be fielding PM's here and setting up accounts for you to ensure you receive your forum name and you do not have to through the pain of registration.

Send a request via and we will respond with a registered account name and a temporary password.

We look forward to your feedback, suggestions, bug reports, and criticisms that will be used to make uosatrade.com a better place.

...and why do we need a new trade forum that is built exactly like the current one that has the sanction and support of the admin?

Unless of course it's built for the scammers who have been banned from the official one, in which case, have at it and I want no part of it.

Cuz the staff here wants out of the trade forum game, as as been expressed many times in the past.

this is an advertisement and should be removed - maybe a phishing attempt!

I dont see any reference that would be reliable in any kind nor do i see a reference to a staff member or how official this would be.

I think infromation like this would be announced in the Shard News section.

We appreciate your question(s) and concerns about uosatrade. We are certain that there are many not unlike yourself see it as unnecessary or even an attempt to scam. We have gone to great lengths as staff and in particular one of us who is a coder to make uosatrade.com safer and more secure than the uosa main website forums. A lot of work was done and we would not want to jeopardize that in any way, shape, or form.

We offer some security features that uosa main does not have as well. We have full PM reporting, logging, trader feedback, geolocation software for effective domain name and location bans, and a way to redirect those caught scamming from viewing the website without a sizable drive. We've also been experimenting recently with hardware ID banning using a modification of swekey that doesn't require a token. Our punishments are also of the same or greater level than currently offered as, contrary to popular belief, people are not banned from the game for scamming they are only banned from using the trade forum. As we've seen that has not stopped those like BeatingU from continuing their business practices. We can put a stop to such.

Lastly, we're making an attempt to satisfy a desire of the staff to alleviate the stress and problems the trade forums have/do/will cause. Their time is better spent on matters related to the shard and not to reading reports and babysitting the trade forums. I hope this has answered some of your questions and served to ease some of the concerns you may have.

well considering that there has been no offical announcements about it .. and it is made by a brand new forum account that no one has ever heard of, who are we to know if this is legitimate or a scam?

we must caution on the side of scam.

why can't people advertise a uosa related service?

if you use your uosa account/forum info then thats on you. they aren't representing it as an official service. do you even know what phishing is?

Is this a joke? Seriously?

First off, the issue of the owners of this site having to hide behind a username is a joke, though I'm going to go ahead and guess that it's Brules, Kryptonical, and ShastaMcNasty running it since they effectively hold the IRC channel of the same name. Until they come here themselves saying their not involved, I'll just stick to that since it makes the most sense. What doesn't make sense is their choice to remain an anonymous party when something like this pops up which is asking people to move to another site with no affiliation with UOSA.

Second, safer and more secure? You are aware that phpBB is far more secure than Smart Machines Forums, right? You're whole mumbo-jumbo, trying to impress people with some smart sounding "features" and "tech talk" makes me giggle. The fact is that you offer nothing this site isn't already capable of and are talking about using unnecessary "greater level punishment" when realistically, this site does it's absolute best at a justice system that works rather than banning every yabbo based on hearsay and there is a higher level of accountability here than your site could provide.

Lastly, the last time I checked, the Trade Forum just added a new member to it's moderation staff and both of the moderators of that forum are not game admin and have willingly/wantingly dedicated their time to do that job, so the reason you've given has become completely moot.

Sorry I'm not jumping on your proverbial band wagon, but I see this turning into more of a disaster for players than a benefit to the people of this shard.

There is no accountability by hiding behind a false name, that makes it advertising.
There is no sanction from the UOSA admin, that makes it spam.

seems you're jumping on the band wagon to attack something new

given what ive heard about this board its more likely to be GK behind it than anyone from the uosatrade channel.
