When i try to log in i get this message

Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue?

Install new IRC client. I've been using HyraIRC and pretty happy with it.

Looks like a firewall issue. Try disabling your firewall then trying it again, if it works then you know its the firewall and can re-enable it. After its enabled again just open up port 6667. Maybe 8001, too, its not entirely clear in that link if the client specifically uses 8001 or not.
