Archery/Swords/DP

I have a question on how much delay would you experience between switching from heavy crossbow to hally back to heavy crossbow ect. I know the hally mage is one of the better temps in the game but how would a archer/swordsmen be? Just want to get some thoughts if this could work well. Kinda want to get the two strongest weapons in the game plus deadly posion on the hally. This is not for a lone ranger PvPer just something I could run around with a couple of friends. Also if I have an alchemist/poisoner to poision my weapon how many charges of DP would I get if I gave the weapon to this charater?
Archery
Swords
Poision/Magery
Heal
Resist
Tactics

Deadly poison (at GM) will inflict poison 3 or 4 times out of 12 "charges".

You're not going to be much use without some magery. You need at least 30 or so to recall from scrolls, and poisoning becomes debatably useless beyond 70 skill. I believe you halve your skill and take it as a percentage to poison, so at 100 skill you will poison on 50% of your hits. At 70 skill a little more than a third of your hits will deliver....also you can't poison a hally (I don't believe).

For delays, there's a 1 second delay between actions here. So, to go from bow to hally you're looking at 1 second. To go from hally to kat you're looking at 1 second more.

I'm working on a archer/swords build right now. Reason being that archery and melee run on two seperate cycles. So, you can xbow hit then hally hit with only a 1 second delay. If they both hit and depending on your damage rolls, your opponent would be mighty sad very early on. After that though, archery becomes less useful, from what I understand, but I haven't done a lot of pvp here yet to test.

You can poison a hally, and I'm not sure exactly, but Derrick told me DP has 12 "charges" and I know you do not inflict poison 6 times out of 12 wit a DP, its more like 3 or 4

Yep, you're right. It isn't halved it's quartered...so 100 skill means that 1/4th of your hits will poison. Makes the skill even more useless under GM.

Yep yep I keep all weps in my poisoned. On most of my chars I run around with 3-4 dp/gp hallys or whatnot cause it runs out quick.

I have alot of fun pvping in a group with my archer/fencer /poisoner. Just remember that training poisoning to gm (for dp) is very expensive, and dp pots are likewise costly. I made the mistake of making an alchemist with poisoning n then this char... now I have 2 gm poisoners n one alchemist. So basically train poisoning while u build an alchemist. On the other hand, if you'd like to buy kegs to train poisoning with shoot me a msg. :)
