I can confirm this is a unique event item from the wrong evil christmas prison break event
Heres the pic of the mob it dropped off
was also some 'ice' armour (its not neon) that dropped

might be cause it needs a newer client to equip it?

You might be right. It looks a lot like this:

except that it faces the opposite way and is just called "a lance" when clicked on. So that would mean it would have to be what, AoS or above? If so, maybe I'll try and find someone who has a later client to test it out.
Interestingly enough, I can't seem to find a Google pic of one equipped anywhere.

Kudos to Applejack for figuring this out many hours ago.
BTW guys, when someone writes "No private bids", generally that's what they mean, haha. The two nameless people who were in on this have been begging me to post all the PMs I got. I think I'll be nice instead and let them float away into cyberspace....
