On that note, you'd also have to get rid of guild chat if you wanted to strip these features. And alliance chat.

I would be for removing party system, but guild chat? I realize it would be accurate, but I think it would do more harm than good.
If guild chat is considered for removal, why not consider removing instant dry dock for the harbormaster system?

I'm surprised guild chat even exists let alone party system. I accidentally hit the guild chat feature and wondering what the hell it was. It must be some added feature in UO LONG after the UOR patch. I hate the party system and would hope to see its demise. It adds a more skillful environment to the game with its removal.

My mind is blown; I was so sure that guild chat was in era.
I guess we used IRC so much that it just seemed that way. I looked it up, it was added in 2005.

Wow, Derrick... I didn't realize it was added that late. I knew it was way after UOR, but that is two years past AoS even. I was estimating somewhere around the release of AoS.

I wasn't even aware of the guild and ally chat systems. I guess it was an artifact of an extremely old client. As for the party system, it was added some time in late March 2000 (right around the 2 week period just prior to UOR where the soon-to-be Fellucia took on it's "dead" look).

Removing party system would be nice because of "UO Positioning system" which will actually give you a chance in running away from ganks, on the other hand removing guildchat and party system would further encourage vent :/

You can definately give counts to thieves guild members, and it will suspend them from the guild until their count is gone.
This may be a poisioned food bug. I will look into tit. Thanks

Ok, so you get rid of party system. then we will all have to use UOAM icq, all the garbage i dont want on my computer!

And I wouldn't say it would give more skill at all because people will just download ventrillo and need even less skill =/

There's currently no plan to get rid of either. Feel free to discuss the party and guild chat more, I just don't want anyone to get the idea this is planned for removal.

If someone is in a situation where they can use vent they will use it regardless. The arguement for skill is most certainly valid. Party system allows health bars to stay up indefinitely. However, in the opposite scenario they disappear if your "team member" runs off the screen. It takes a somewhat skillful approach to keep these bars up or bring them back up if they have removed. This also slightly renders the annoying people that love to run off screens in group fights.
