Hi there,
Now i started on UO in the T2A days, and i am abesultely gutted, on how crap EA have made the game, just not the same.
Now for years i have been looking for something to fill the void, with no avail.
Now back in the day i tried some free shards, nothing really keeping me entertained for long, but after doing some reading when looking for a replacement to UO i found a lovely link here.
Now im am hoping... really hoping i have found what i am looking for.
Basicly i just wanted to know, will this shard do it? please tell me it will.
I mean this in the sense of, the adventure, the community, the skill, the fun... is it all here? like back in T2A.
I am downloading everything i need for your shard, and i intent to play, just wanted to know from the more veteran players, will this fill the void?!
sorry if it is a bit of stupid post, but i have been searching for so long, i miss old uo!!!

I'll be quite honest with you, this shard is pretty much exactly accurate to the T2A era and the only thing setting it off is that people now macro their skills for long periods of time to get to 100 rather then adventuring it out.
If you're cool with that, which is not THAT big of a deal, then everything else should be pretty close to spot on.
Welcome.

This is like my first day or second and it's pretty similar and has a lot of events throughout the day. Play it now and get started. Gains are slow and I'm about to GM music finally.

Well, this shard should cut it for you if you have had no luck. It is the most accurate shard that exists today and is also the funnest. Although, like previously stated, you can macro your toon to GM before taking him/her out of town. Even so, you will find that as it is growing...you have the feel of the old days. You adventure out and wherever you go you are bound to run into somebody. Just yesterday, I spent the day in destard. There were many bards in and out of the dungeon all day long. Even a few PKs tried their luck but were unsuccessful as the bards would band together and wipe them out. It has been awhile since I have seen this kind of teamwork. I am proud to be part of this shard!

Divvet, I assure you that this server is the most fun and best maintained free UO server on the net. I've played on a few popular free shards, and they were alright, but most had tons of bugs/rollbacks/exploits which made them shitty in the long run. I've even played on EA/OSI shards about a year ago, and it was crap compared to this.
You will enjoy playing here. Even the PKs here are friendly people (unless you see them outside of a guard zone..lol)

Only start playing here if you want to find yourself ignoring your friend's calls, skipping class, and staying up way too late for the next week or more.
Other than that, I havent had this much fun playing UO since I first installed it 10 years ago.
The community here is great, most everyone is friendly and helpful. You really never get the 'this is a ghost town' feel most free shards offer(or you get when playing in Fel on osi shards), this one seems full of players 24/7. The population here is actually really good, its not too crowded where you have to wait in lines at the good spawns for your turn to loot a monster and have pk's show up every 5 minutes. Nor is it so empty where you can't find someone plenty of people to adventure/pvp with at any hour of the day.

well ive got to say, ever since i left uo many many years ago, ive been drifting between mmorpg to mmorpg (wow, war, eq2, rfo, etc) and could never get the feeling i had while playing uo, even when i went back to osi a few years ago the feeling had gone, and i would only last 2-4 days max on each game. this is the first time when that feeling is back, good old uo

i thank you all, especially Derrick for creating this shard, been messaging all my old uo buddies to get their asses on here now

.
also just a quick question, are the quests the same as back in t2a, where you goto an npc, or has the shard got a different way of going about it?
also, what do people find the easiest way to bring in the gold if your a complete newb with no decent skills etc?
thanks again btw

Yea there some easy quests and just talk to the NPC's with some random stuff it will start. and theres the Boards at the banks with abductions which are pretty good to start out doing.
