LvL 1 tmaps.....hands down. No pk's, great loot, and you can solo. Buy em for gold and almost double your money on gold + loot = profit.

Can you get power/vanq stuff from level 1 chests? I'm not much of a t-mapper so I really have no idea if that's common at all.

To add to the thread; Terrathan Warriors are a guaranteed magic weapon drop, also.

You "can" get a vanq off a lvl1. As to how common it is: very, very rare for a lvl1 to have "decent" vanq stuff (hally, kat, warfork, etc.). You might find a vanq skinning knife or a hatchet here and there.

Does the type of weapon really matter? I thought that was always random?

After 75 or so lvl 1 maps, best things I got were a +25 vanq kryss and a +20 power hally. Also a few silver ruin/might weapons and decent power/force. Most are crap and you never get any magic items except nightsight. It is a good, risk free way at loot though to get started.

Sounds like level 1 maps are def the way to go for a new player looking to build up a bank account then. You can open the chests with magic unlock on level 1's right?

For a warrior, they are pretty good, since you're almost immune to damage from the enemies. As a mage, you might have to heal a couple times if you're slow at IDing weapons.

For a mage, lockpicker, thief, bard, tamer, etc., I'd say lockpicking is far more profitable. L1 maps are damn slow (finding the right coordinate, recalling to rune library, dealing with native spawn on islands like giant serpents, silver serpents, etc.). Macro lockpicking up to 95.0, and then just do dungeon chests. You'll only gain skill from level 4 dungeon chests, but there's like 15 of them, the PK threat is fairly low, and there's more variety of encounter (in my opinion). And you don't risk much equipment - just a bag of reagents and a few lockpicks. Overall, in terms of $/hour, this is a MUCH better way to make money.

When I started here I made a lot of my newbie money as a dungeon picker/miner. I actually enjoy it so sometimes I still do it. I'd recall to the level 4 chest spots, pick the chest, mine up my pack full of ore, then go to the bank to dump off the items and ore and move on to the next spot. Sometimes I'd bring an EV scroll with me and take out a blood elemental or something along the way too. Drop the EV, hide/stealth, then mine until the blood elemental was dead and grab my loot and head out.

It's pretty safe like Mikel pointed out, if you stay stealthed most the time it's even safer. Just recall out from stealth if someone shows up.

level of map only determines how much contents are inside & the guardian level

does not determine the properties found on the items, that is completely random
[14:17] <UOSAPlayer4056> cr3w guild is a joke. Ran by staff members, multi client pking, this shards a joke and a half.

I just wanted to say that I have gotten a +25 hally +25 kryss +25 warfork +25 kat and other good weps from lvl 1's. The level of weapon is not determined by the level of map, infact it is just a number of weapons/items u receive. My best weapons have come from lower level maps. Level 5's are great cuz u may get nice weps but also get 12-17k loot on spawn/chest.

Lvl 1 maps are great for sure, stack em up for when you are bored, or make your bankroll from them, they are a good less risk way to make money. Maps are a great addition to farming for making money, you can make quite a bit and also changes things up a bit for you as well as far as breaking up farming and maps and whatever you may do.
