UO Second Age

I've been griefed out of this server. 4 times today pkd. I dont have the skill or internet conn to survive the massive onslaught of a server with no community and nothing but pks in dungeons

Richard Pryor and Robby Piper and Eddie Izzard methodically recall around newbie zones and kill new players without res or gating them out
it's anti social and I just dont enjoy logging in cause there's nothing to do.

Don't let those fools get you down. They scout out noob areas and recall/gate in to pwn. Usually they have a hidden tracker nearby or a ghost.

The main spots they monitor that I've noticed are Destard 1, Covetous Lich, Deciet LL, Yew Liches, and Double Balron. There's probably more, but if they're on making their weak rounds, just farm a less popular spot.

Or do something else to make your newb cash to get going. Mining and lumberjacking are GREAT easy ways to make $ to get your magery up so you can protect/recall from idiots like this.....

Last week, those guys ganked me on the first floor of Shame. It was frustrating because I was hidden and stealthing, and had been for quite some time. (And, yet, they knew exactly where I was because they surrounded me against a wall without revealing me.)

I suspect they use a ghost to spy on newbie players.

After feeling butt-hurt for a few minutes, I decided to find somewhere else to fight for awhile.

There are a lot of tips on this board about avoiding PK's, or at least minimizing their effects. In short, you could consider using your own ghost before going into a dungeon. Also, bank often.

yeah, they ganked one of my toons with zero combat skill a couple of days ago. killed my horse and made fun of me. so what? should i whine about the 5-10k they took from me?

i mean, i am so totally not into pvp and even i can see that their skill is a joke compared to guys like hendrix and co. their behavior just reflects that. if these guys spoil your fun this might not be the right shard for you.

smarten up. learn from your deaths. prepare better, target other farming areas, learn to fight back and what not. matron made a good post about how to not die once.

or give in like a sissy.

This shard isn't for "casual" players. If you don't have a money-maker up and running in a short time you're going to be behind the curve and PK bait. Make a provo-bard, macro in a safehouse or in town, make sure he's got enough magery for energy vortex and then you're golden. Set up a recall macro and you will die very few times to PK's. Build up cash, macro a tank mage or tricked out dexxer and you should be just fine as it is very hard for a character to die on this shard if you have GM magery. You may not be able to kill anyone but it's very hard for them to kill you when you have mini-heal available.

PvP on this shard simply boils down to a battle of attrition, basically whoever runs out of regs, potions or bandages. This is a shard for macroers, gold farmers, or bored PK's, T2A era accurate? Well that's a debate that could go on for quite some time, so I won't go there.

So Le Tigre, cheer up, get that bard macroed up and get back on the horse (or switch shards, whatever you feel is best), it's gonna be o.k.

if it makes you feel better someone killed them/their friends, cant remember exactly who died, by keeping 60ish dragons in a room they gate to, and keeping tables down around their exact gate spot. hilarity ensued. There's a thread about it somewhere with screenshots

Not the same guys, but same guild, and still as funny as when it happened. You can thank this guy for them scouting now is the only downside

Hiya this is Xevec from C^V. In addition to what others have already said, I recommend the following;
Hunt in the overworld.
FInd people to hunt with, use IRC so people know you are looking to hunt.
Aviod popular hotspots.
Get an invis ring, and make a macro to cast recall, then equip the ring, then target rune.

Hello!

Yesterday a pk killed me in a fun & curios way:

I was farming liches, and found a pouch in one of them loot. I though "ehy! that's strange.. a pouch!"

in the pouch there were some random stuff and... a crate...

KABOOM!

Just 1 second as a ghost and this pk was already looting me.

Ok I have been stupid opening that crate found in the liche, and it's easy after that understand that a pk dropped it trapped and waited hidden until a liche picked it up... but it was pretty hilarious!!

Don't care so much about being pked. This game is wonderful because of that adrenaline!
