What kind of financial incentive is behind all the sheep farms i see around brittania? How much are these operations making(given they have their permit)?

Depends on how many sheep you have, and how long it takes someone to find and kill them all. I made about 15k yards of cloth off of about 29 sheep or so before they were all killed.

Sheep farms are very profitable. You can sell cloth, or even make clothes or bandages to sell. I recommend that you purchase a [cA] Sheep Husbandry permit. They are available for a one-time fee of 5,000 gold. It is well worth this small amount of gold to avoid having to constantly restock your sheep.
When you are ready to set up your farm, please contact one of my associates in IRC to arrange for the purchase of your permit.
Good luck and good farming.

what? its ALL about the loOts!
5k is a good deal but unfortunately racketeers abound. not saying that cA appears to be anything but the highest pedigree of morality.

it totally depends how many sheep you pen in.
i mean if you penned like 50 sheep on one tile you could make tons and tons of cloth or bandaids in a day.
for awhile i was farming sheeps and i was only making bandaids and i didnt have say more then 15-20 sheep and i could easily make 12k bandaids a day .
you can open a vendor and just sell bandaids and sell them cheaper then other people . its not great money but you can do it with no risk really and u dont lose anything except the time to tame the sheep if someone kills them.

Please provide more specifics. What do you get for the $5000? A wooden pen? How many sheep? Are they yours (tame or protected) or just available in your area for anyone to clip?

If you purchase a cA permit, you receive the peace of mind of knowing that cA won't show up at your house and kill all your sheep =P

to buy a sheep permit is rather pointless, if anyone else finds the sheep they will kill them anyways

but we throw time/reward ratios out the window and hunt them down with passion. And we offer commission to anyone who reports a sheep farm that we collect a license fee on
