Anyone willing to help a newb to this shard?

This is my first day on the shard. It looks awesome and I want to play it but I have no resources or gold. I have been rich before and given people tons of money if they sincerely needed it.
If the site offers anything to buy like gold or something that I could use please point me too it.
I would just be very humble and I know the rich people are not going to step up unless they know me. Do you have a heart?
Please help me.

create a lumberjacker and/or miner- i'll purchase logs from you at 4 to 5gp a piece, and ingots (iron) at 8 to 9 each. Yitamin on irc, pm me if you wanna make the easiest cash available.

I'll help. I'm new myself after many years away from UO. In a week I bought a boat, placed a house and have tons of raw materials in reserve. It's been hard work, but I knew I needed resources before I tried to work up a character for fun. Ppl helped me out with food, cash and a spellbook. It's great doing that for others. I stop each young char I see and ask if they are new or a 2nd. Doing this paid me back directly when one of them helped me with Razor yesterday. Someone else helped me with information: character templet and rune to a house spot...PRICELESS!.
