A lot of you may have noticed a good deal of high end rares floating around lately. There is a reason behind this.

Things are a mess right now because no one is controlling the rares economy. The 2 people who were doing it previously quit and I don't have the dedication anymore.

Message me on IRC and I can pass the torch onto you. I don't want to see rares slowly become worthless as different people who really didn't work for them keep getting them. Only consider this if you are serious about rare hunting, (it is truly a curse to have this knowledge).

People who really didn't work for them keep getting them? Wow. They spawn, you pick them up. Have more of a cry please.

Wtf are you talking about? Rares are floating around because someone sold a lot of rare spot runebooks, which usually piques interest in rare hunting for at least a month of two, combined with the influx of new players. If you think anyone is controlling the rare economy, or that someone can know exactly when things spawn, you're fooling yourself. There are runebooks to the exact spots where these things spawn all over town

If he's talking about those rares, then he still isn't making any sense as they aren't exactly flooding the trade boards with any increased regularity since these specific people stopped hunting, if we're talking about the same people (also a lot of people leaving, selling off stuff).

Also if you think there are exact times for all of these monthly rares, and that they are guarded secrets, you should consider for a second that these people might just be trying to make themselves look cool. I can't remember how many times I've had to roll my eyes at people trying to make rare hunting seem mysterious or some sort of puzzle when I have hundreds of spawn times and know they are blowing smoke up peoples asses, or don't realize that things may have changed. Anybody can camp a rare as long as they know the spot and get it, as long as they are willing to wait long enough. There are only maybe 2-3 rares I know of whose locations I have yet to see in a runebook or posted somewhere on these forums

They don't own the rare spawns. They can all rack off.

The spawn timers vary on such long times its not even possible to pinpoint when the next spawn will be, only the MINIMUM time until its eligible to spawn again. Anyone who thinks/says they know the exact timers when <rare> will spawn, is lying.

What's the big complaint here? I don't see why you folks are so up in arms.
