Working off murder counts

Hey folks:

Is there any way to see how many murder counts one has?

Can one work them off while a ghost?

Does the 8-hour short term, 40 hour long-term rule apply in this server?

I took a two year break, but am back now. Killed someone who was pretty annoying with my mage and suddenly I'm red. Clearly when I quit years ago I had 4 counts.

In all my years of UO I never was a PK, so I have no clue how it works. Does Buc's Den have a stables?

Thanks for any help.

There's a comprehensive guide to murdering and statloss here - viewtopic.php?f=9&t=2535

If your character is public you can look them up on myuosa http://my.uosecondage.com/ and see short term counts. You can also get some idea by saying 'I must consider my sins' ingame. UOSA does use 8 hour short/40 hour long term.

Edit - See post below for correction to this^

Actually the murder counts on myUOSA are long terms, for short terms (stat-loss) do the "I must consider my sins" in game thing. Blue writing means you're good, red letters means no ressing.

You can work counts off as a ghost.

Also, I don't think there's a stable in Bucs, but you can find one in an unguarded zone in the x-roads near compassion, or you can also use the Minoc stables from outside the guard zone if you stand a couple of tiles from it on the north side.

Thanks for the answers.

I'm now a bit confused. That one short term made me red, but I've been a ghost in game since I posted that at 11:48am. Its now been 10 hours. Why hasn't that short-term decayed, and why am I not blue now?

Thanks.

Long terms determine your murderer status, short terms only determine if you are in stat loss.
