UO Second Age

if u have seen any of my previous posts u will realise that i am not that good on computers, im not to bad at them but when it comes to actually kowing a lil bit, thats where i fall short, i cannot get on to irc since iv had this computer, everytime i try getting on there it says error 2031. iv tried downloading lightirc but im not sure what im doing if anyone has any previous experience with this or any knowledge of computers please feel free to help m eout thank u, most kind

if you use this client, in the top left theres a little little hammer icon for options.
fill your nickname in, and an alternative.
then goto servers - add - and use the info below
make sure to select it when done
then you should be able to just hit connect

then when you sign on, type /join #secondage


IRC Server: irc.wildirc.net
Port: 6667 (default)
Channel: #secondage

thanks for your reply mate i tried what u said but it still saying unable to connect, i think it might be my security stopping it signing in, jus need to find out how to allow it now

what os are you using?

is windows firewall on? or a third party software firewall?

if you are on a large shared network like a school or job, it's possible
they are blocking the ports for irc. you could try to ask the local admin
to open them up if that's the case.

not sure what o`s are, but this is my home computer, jus keeps saying error 2031

OS = Operating System (Windows 7, Windows XP, Linux etc)

Chances are the error is caused by your firewall, this thread might help

if they don't know what their OS is i doubt they will know how to configure a software or hardware firewall.

i would suggest getting a friends help in real life at this point.

im running windows 7, iv tried the suggestions from the links, hydralirc i cant seem to work out how to use it, i managed to turn my firewall off, but still getting the error 2031 thing so not sure what to try now, ima ask my brother when he comes down but until then i have no idea wa im doing,

Make sure you switch the firewall back on again

windows 7 professional is what im running, anyone got that who is having problems with irc?
