Creative Writing Competition. (5 sliver in Prizes or 50k )

--- Rules ---
It can't be random junk or insulting.
Entry book must be handed to 'Thebreadman'.
Best 10 Entries will be placed into a vote on here.
All suitable entries will be added to the DG library.
The top entry will be given 3 sliver or 30k with 2nd and 3rd place 1 sliver or 10k.
Winning entry to be displayed(spawn) on Britannia's bookshelfs.
Entries accepted up to September 30th or Recieved 10 suitable entries.
Accepted entries will be judged by me. 5 pages minimum for acceptance though leway given if story is suitable at shorter.
EDIT: Upto three books are allowed!

Any idea how many pages a book will hold? I've got a ton of uo fiction, but it's probably too long, lol

UO books are 20 pages, I believe. And if I had to guess from memory, like 10 lines per page and maybe 20 characters per line? This is a blind guess though as my last UO book was when I did the auction.
20x10 = 200 chars per page...x 20, 4000 characters.

Aw, shoot!
Since I was the one who suggested this in IRC, I decided to put my words where my mouth is and I wrote up two stories for this competition...didn't read closely enough that it has to be in an in-game book! I think at least the longer one will be too long for an in-game book. Time to type up the shorter one and find out I guess.
Edit: even the much shorter one is 4,500 characters with spaces. That will not fit then, it sounds like. Hmmm....
Damn 4,000 characters is little space to tell a story....that's probably not even counting whole lines of character lost due to paragraph indents....with that, a book has maybe 2,500 characters for an entry....
Breadman, are you should we can't turn in two books, Volumes I and II for an entry and for the library?
