I currently have a tamer and smith (two different toons) im working on, should I finish the tamer first or the smith? Reason I'm even asking is it seems like the tamer could be finished faster then the smith.

Smith can be macro'd to gm and the tamer can't, but there's a ton more revenue from a tamer - so the payoff is greater. Depends on what your motivation is, really.

Finish the tamer and start making 40k+ per hour, versus 40k a week with smithing

The risks of taming are slightly greater than a miner/smith.
When I started out with Zorn, I was mining and smithing ringmail tunics to sell to NPCs.
I was making about 10k every 2-3 hours, which wasn't too bad for a total newb.

If fox_phyre takes a week to make 40k on a smith, it's just because he's sucks.

Well I put 40k worth of stuff in my vendor because I don't like to restock multiple times a week (when I had the time)

Just busting your chops a bit. I was speaking of the progress to GM smithing, not what you can do once you're there.

Im just saying if i follow Rose's taming guide and Matron's Smithing guide that Taming would be quicker, and that maybe doing that first and getting it out of the way and coming back to mining/smithing might make more sense? Honestly i would prefer to have the tamer done first anyways but just asking which makes more sense to do first.

Yeah, it really comes down to what you enjoy more.
To me, mining and smithing is meditative to a degree. I hear taming can get a bit frustrating, but I dunno, I don't play my tamer.
