Per stratics (current tinkering page) things like globes, scales, heating stands, candlebra's, etc. retain color of the ore they used.

I have no idea what is era accurate.

I tried making a globe with valorite inggots and i got a "this item is not used for tinkering" or something close to that as a msg.

Then I tried making a globe with shadow inggots last night. It worked, but the globe was not colored.

Pretty wierd it wouldnt let me tinker the valorite, but it did with shadow... but items didnt retain color.

Anyone know what is era accurate here? as far as retaining color?

It should work the same way that blacksmithy worked when making weapons with colored ingots. Colored ingots for making weapons reacts as if it's normal ingots. The items shouldn't be hued that are made from tinkering. The only item that retained the hue of colored ingots was armor.

Ahh, so they added hued tinkering items after the era?

Also, is it a bug that i couldnt tinker with valorite (not that it matters without hues) or was it that my tinkering is in the high 90's and not gm 99-100 yet?

I'll have to test this. There is no fundamental difference between Valorite and Shadow ingots

Oh I was just needlessly interjecting that I have a lantern made before this ability was taken away.
