No, swapping the one long damage delay spell with a 2nd ebolt spell (basically) wouldn't change the game at all.

If this was the case energy bolt and explosion would be in fact one of the same. The only difference between the two would be the damage delay of the ebolt compared to the instant damage of the explosion.

The reg cost is one in the same, minus the different variations of the two types of regs between each spell.

Thats what I meant, reg cost, not gold cost of the regs ^_^

During t2a explosion actually took 3 sets of regs instead of simply moss and root that was later changed sometime way after UOR. It used to be more expensive than energy bolt because of this.

I thought so, I never recalled explosion being as cheap as Ebolt. But I went and looked at stratics and low and behold it was. Guess I should trust my memory more often ^_^

I demand a patch!

Derrick and I discussed all the reagent changes involving the damage spells that were changed. We both agree that it would be great to fix it, however there is a problem involved with the change. The spellbooks are client side, which means the required reagents that are listed in the spellbook would still show the new reagents. Also, this will cause problems with razor since it goes by the new reagents too. It may in fact be more of a hassle because of these reasons that we have absolutely no control over.

Explosion should be pearl, root, and ash. Ebolt is only shade and pearl.

While we're on the subject, Fireball was Pearl and Ash :)

aye, only damage spells has changed over the course of time. All the spells that use the new values for reagents are Magic Arrow, Fireball, Lightning, and Explosion.
