I don't worship anyone. They made a good game that COULD have been great. It's just a good game that they sold out and went to other failed projects. The honest truth: Garriot would have ruined UO just like EA if he had stayed. The man is all about the money and personal gratification.

And i am just explaining that it is a good time to do it because alot of talking is going on because of rumors regarding Ultima Online 2, Ulitma Online Social Game and the release of Richard Garriotts movie.

I must say you are very energetic in your attempts to promote UOSA. Wish we all shared the same energy, but as discussed in some other threads people don't even bother to vote.

Personally I find it very difficult to promote UOSA to new people, since the game simply has a too steep learning curve for the new generation of MMO players, it is not graphically as appealing as other games out there, and then there's the risk of actually losing an entire day/week of work in the game, which is too much to take for a generation of players whose attention span is about equal to a squirrel on crack.

There are exceptions to this, of course, but my opinion still stands: the best place to promote the shard is to those who are not new to UO, already have a feeling what it's about - one such place would be to vote for UOSA in the UO lists that are out there. That way we stand a slim chance of attracting people who already play UO on other free shards and who are willing to endure the hardships of this era to succeed in the game.

I hope your work brings us some new players - I miss the society UO once was, both in the good and the bad. A shard full of veterans doesn't exactly replicate the same feeling, but at least it gives us the feeling of the world being populated.

Chum is on the money...and this is well documented all over the internet for the era.

Garriot is going to put the nails in the coffin for the UO "brand" associated with him with his next free to play social media game that is somehow a successor to UO.

Garriott is a forefather of the genre and the creator of Britannia.
I'd go out on a limb and say that a good amount of people here play for that nostaglic 'Ultima' feeling, not simply the old UO feeling.

Regarding the proverbial coffin....that has been under six feet of proverbial soil since the downfall of UO. Electronic Arts performed the services and whether Garriott pounded any nails or not, I could care less. The man is an RPG legend.
