UO Second Age

I was on my boat when a sea serp came. i went to docks and said guards. They came and killed it but now theres a guard on my boat and it wont move. My boat is totally stuck. Any suggestions?

I've had this before. They will disappear in a flash of light at some point in the not too distant future, often only a few minutes, at worst only a matter of hours.
