The Taming Grind

Post by drangowolf »

Yep this has been lovely four days and im at 80 taming, always worth it in the end though. The only thing I wish T2A had that was post-T2A is the pet skill building system. Even though its just about the same, seeing it makes it that much better.

It would be awesome to have this system, but it would be useless because there are no pet slots open.

I never played after the release of UO:R, so my knowledge of the pet skill system is null. However, you can train up your pets here. I have trained up WW's that could solo balrons without loosing more than half life.

Yeah, post-UOR you could eventually use Animal Lore to see the stats of your pets. Then I think with the power scrolls (skills 100.1 - 120) you could see the stats of untamed monsters. So you could run around Destard to look for the best dragon to tame. Then after that, they implemented bonding, which allowed you to resurrect your pets.

I really enjoyed this as well... but, the 5-pet limit kind of turned me off, as I also enjoyed running around with 10+ dire wolves or small hellcats.

I feel ya. I'm going to make a tamer at some point.

I never GMed taming on an OSI shard. Going to try it here.

But I'm concerned with the stable space thing.

The stable issue isn't that bad if you just have a normal amount of dragons.. I have had no issue keeping three to six dragons and a couple mares. It's just difficult if you want to store a large number of them, but three dragons is more than enough to farm elder gazers with. I wouldn't let a mild annoyance stop me from being able to farm gold quicker than any other PvM build out there..

Recall out. Plenty of time to do it. Ditch the dragons, they're easy enough to tame more.

Also, half the time I play my tamer, I just go tame whatever I'm going to use to hunt (WW or Dragons) and use them that time. At the end of my hunt I'll just leave them there so the next person can continue to use them.
