AFK Rare Gathering

This was not possible to do in era. At least it was not possible to do legally, in era. Also, it was a bannable offense. I would like to see our shard reflect the Era-Accuracy of this being not allowed and not even possible.

As it is, people just have to log in at server up and hit go on their macros before they go to work. The macro will grab the rare, organize the rare into their banks, and recall them to an inn or other out of the way place for safety. This was most-definitely not era accurate and it punishes people who actually play the game and rewards people who are quite literally not playing the game.

Let's get back to actually playing the game and stop letting AFK'ers ruin this shard.

Easy fix...if they are truley AFK just kill them everyday. If everyone pitches in when they can it wont be a problem.

This does not actually work in practice.

Archer bot macros that are timed to moments before the rare spawn times.
More shitty automated gayming to counteract the same.

I have no comment on whether this is against shard rules, or the era's rules... however I just wanted to comment on the "well you can stop them ingame" solutions that popup so often on the common complaints of archer bots, AFK anything, etc:

Countering them takes many times the effort, time and resetup to do in comparison to a simple res (at best) and restart of macro. Just saying this isn't a realistic solution for some of these more tedious things, it's a bit scapegoat, and the focus should maintain on era accuracy (if it's against rules, staff step in).

The 'let the players sort it out' stance should not include abuse of allowed functionality (Razor) to cause undue grief to other players who are actually playing the game, not automating it, in my opinion.

I PK Maxine (Cove lich room to the east) and Derga (Ogre lord room outside) several times a day because they are AFK rare gathering. It doesn't stop them one bit, but rather is merely a speed bump.

AFK rare gathering should be bannable in my opinion.

well the use of razor is not era accurate either. i dont think pvpers are going to want to go back to clicking on potions or trap pouches.

I can understand that you do not want the status quo changed, as you are one of the rares hunters.

Razor did have similar alternatives in UO: Assist. Unfortunately, UO: Assist didn't allow these complex rares gathering macros back then.

This shard declares war on AFK rare gatherers, AFK resource gatherers, and AFK reagant buying/scroll makin/scroll selling/gold gatherers, and AFK fishing MIB gatherers!

Its not era-accurate. Whether someone supports it or not is pretty irrelevant.

i don't think the current spawning process is era accurate either is it?
i remember it being at server up, not random times. that right?
